Check: The Indian Health Service (IHS) has released a training video and a companion fact sheet on background investigation requirements under the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act, and says an implementation plan will follow.

What it does

Tribes and Tribal Organizations that must implement the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act (ICPFVPA) for positions with regular contact with or control over American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) children can use the video, which covers position coverage, investigative standards, disqualifying offenses, and compliance and oversight responsibilities. The video is meant to be used with the ICPFVPA Fact Sheet.
