What's the difference between Professional and Sovereign?

Professional covers the full pre-submission workflow — proposal generation, NOFO extraction, supporting documents, and budget tools. Sovereign adds post-award compliance monitoring, renewal generation, and the 7-year record vault. If your grants end at submission, Professional is sufficient. If you manage active federal awards with reporting requirements, Sovereign is where the compliance protection lives.

GrantsPath helps tribal communities find the right grants and prepare applications. You still submit through grants.gov — we just make the hard parts easier.

Your Path from Discovery to Submission

Each plan unlocks the next stage of the journey. Start free, upgrade when you need more.

Step 1: Find Grants

Free+

Search Grants.gov and 15 state portals in one place

Use plain language like 'housing for elders' or 'youth education programs.' We search federal and state sources so you don't have to check each one separately.

Step 2: See Which Grants Fit Your Community

Researcher+

Every grant gets a fit score showing how well it matches your profile

Stop reading through grants that don't apply to you. Fit scores rank every result so you focus on the best opportunities first. Unlimited bookmarks and deadline reminders keep you on track.

Step 3: Evaluate Grants with AI

Professional+

AI reads the full grant announcement and tells you if it's worth applying

The AI evaluator scores each grant on a rubric — eligibility, competitiveness, alignment with your mission — and explains its reasoning. Stop spending hours reading NOFOs that aren't a good fit.

Step 4: Generate Proposal Drafts with AI

Professional+

Get first drafts of narratives, budgets, and project descriptions

The AI proposal generator writes tailored drafts based on the grant requirements and your community's strengths. Edit and refine instead of starting from a blank page.

Step 5: Verify Your Tribe

Sovereign+

Link your federally recognized tribe to your account with official records

Many grants require proof of tribal status. We pull your tribe's official ID from federal records so it's ready when you need it — no digging through paperwork.

Step 6: Prepare & Export Your Application

Sovereign+

Fill out SF-424 forms and export a ready-to-submit packet for grants.gov

We walk you through each required form and document. When you're done, download everything in the format grants.gov expects. Submit with your SAM.gov login.

Step 7: Keep Records Safe for 7 Years

Sovereign+

Secure storage with successor handoff protects you through audits and staff changes

Federal grants can be audited years after the money is spent. Your application records, correspondence, and compliance documents stay safe — even when staff leave. Invite team members with role-based access.

Important: You submit at grants.gov

We help you prepare everything, but you must submit your final application through grants.gov using your SAM.gov account. This is required by the federal government — no outside site can submit for you.
